How to prepare your cacao

  1. 1
    Break up the cacao

Chop or cut the ceremonial cacao into fine pieces – this helps it dissolve more easily.

  2. 2
    Define the amount

Depending on the size of your cup or the strength of your cacao, you'll need the right amount of cacao (around 30g for a standard-sized cup, or 2 heaped tablespoons)
You'll find the right amount for you through experimenting.

  3. 3
    Warm your liquid

Warm water or plant-based milk slowly. Don't boil it, so the valuable nutrients are preserved.

  4. 4
    Stir in the cacao

Add the cacao and stir or froth it until it's completely dissolved and creamy.

  5. 5
    Refine your drink

Add spices and additions to taste.

  6. 6
    Drink mindfully

Take a quiet moment, set an intention and drink your cacao sip by sip.
